Using royalty free website 'Incompetech' - myself, Aidan and Mike collaboratively looked for 3 pieces of music for the game which we could then feed back to the group, we needed something upbeat yet mystical for the 3D part of the games cinematic and then something more mystical and intense as the prologue transits to a 2D storytelling perspective. We found two pieces of music that fit both parts of the games cinematic perfectly, for the 3D sequence we decided on 'Moonlight Hall' which fits perfectly with the quirky mage room that Flynn walks through, as he approaches the book the mood gets more serious and so 'On the Shore' was a perfect match for the storytelling 2D illustrative sequence. We looked at more too which you can find by searching with the mystical/intense filters.
For the games trailer, we've got as far as a placeholder, this time it was far harder to find something that fits the trailer as we needed particular beats that fits the gameplay and music that also ties in with the games genre and aesthetics, we found a list that could be potential choices: Truth of the Legend, Alchemists Tower, All This, Mistake the Getaway, Nerves, Heroic Age, Five Armies, Mechanolith, Hitman. All of these were potential fits, we need to revise these more thorough before creating a final piece, we need to consider a possible splice between two pieces, we liked 'Mechanolith' as it's description was that of an industrial piece which fits into the games industrial nature, we also like the fact that it alternates from the word monolith which is a large stone construct (Gauss), it also fit the combat particularly well but one of these will be a placeholder for the time being:
